A Che Punto Siamo? FEBBRAIO

Ricordo che questa rubrica parla dei romanzi singoli e delle serie, nonchè degli ebook, che escono questo mese in America, di autori stranieri che hanno già pubblicato anche qui in Italia.

Febbraio è ricco di sorprese, anche se a me di questi libri ne interessano solo la metà. In ogni caso, si può notare che il romanzo di Sophie Kinsella, I've Got Your Number, è già uscito qui in Italia con il titolo "Ho il Tuo Numero" a Ottobre, e Torn di Amanda Hocking in America è già stato autopubblicato nel 2010, quindi questa è solo una ripubblicazione con una casa editrice alle spalle.
Ora non resta che attendere il prossimo mese che, anticipo già, è ancora più ricco di sorprese.

P.S. a scanso di equivoci, dove ho scritto tra parentesi "Inedita in Italia" voglio dire che di quell'autore/rice in Italia è uscita un'altra saga e non quella.

Ricordo che questa rubrica parla dei romanzi singoli e delle serie, nonchè degli ebook, che escono questo mese in America, di autori stranieri che hanno già pubblicato anche qui in Italia.

Questo post ho iniziato a scriverlo il 23 Ottobre e solo ora è pronto... allo stesso modo ne ho un'altra decina che attendono, perchè le novità sono tante e il tempo è poco. Ad ogni modo, questa volta ho cercato di fare una ricerca più approfondita delle uscite estere e mi pento di non averla fatta anche per lo scorso mese, perchè ho notato diverse pubblicazioni succulente che non ho segnalato. Ovviamente ho elencato sotto solo i libri che anchio acquisto e quelli troppo famosi per non citarli... quindi ci sarebbe molto altro. Infine, ringrazio francy di Leggere Fantastico da cui ho preso l'idea di questa rubrica.

Going from the city to tiny Wolf Springs is a huge transition for Katelyn. In her grandfather's corner of the Ozark Mountains, cell-phone reception is spotty and legends are plentiful. As the new girl, Katelyn takes the spotlight over from the last big news in town--the mysterious death of a local girl, believed to have been killed by animals in the woods. The mystery is transparently (and humorously) built through a book on the town's history that is missing a page: the one in between a warning of a creature in the woods more fearsome than the wolves and the line, "And thus it remains that our good company shuns the wooded hills." While Katelyn is courted by standard paranormal-romance suitors, it's her relationship with new BFF Cordelia Fenner that takes center stage. Even though Katelyn is being attacked and hunted, it's Cordelia's plot (which directly references the Cordelia in King Lear) that slowly takes over the novel. From the town-history book to the Shakespeare parallel, the story has little time for subtlety. Instead of solving the mystery, the ending adds additional complications for the sequel to tackle. Enjoyable enough, but it doesn't stand out from the pack.

Tra poco, il 1 SETTEMBRE, uscirà per la Fanucci il quarto romanzo di Rachel Caine di cui io possiedo solo il primo, comprato tempo fa e non ancora letto... ho pile infinite di libri sul comò che attendono e nonostante tutto non faccio altro che comprare.
Questo romanzo non so come sia ma la trama sembra promettere bene, soprattutto a chi piace gli YA

ANTEPRIMA: Blood di Anne Rice e Il Vicolo dei Segreti di Rachel Caine

Oggi due anteprime anche se entrambi i libri in questione sono usciti ieri, 17 MARZO. Sto parlando de "Il Vicolo dei Segreti" di Rachel Caine e "Bood" di Anne Rice. Di quest'ultimo cito la versione economica della TEA perchè l'altra della Longanesi è uscita tempo fa. Quindi questa non è una vera e propria novità tuttavia, secondo me, vale la pena di parlarne. Da notare la bella copertina!

Per fortuna la vita sociale di Morganville offre ancora piacevoli distrazioni, come il party esclusivo organizzato da Monica, smorfiosa e snob nonostante i patetici tentativi di essere carina con Claire. Ma le sorprese non sono finite, e a complicare la situazione si aggiunge un arrivo in città davvero inaspettato...
